| It can get a little touchy to define
what precisely is a perennial. Some plants which are shrubs become
a type of perennial when they die (or are cut back) to the ground
each year. Other perennials become annuals where the winters are too
cold. This list takes an inclusive, imprecise approach to the
concept. (Botanically, we tend to be lumpers rather than splitters.)
