The Wood Fern's 8 to 30 inch triangular blades curl out in a horizontal from to create a wide, low mat. Excellent for shaded, moist, humus rich sites. Often seen growing out of decaying logs.
This is also an easy to grow, woodland fern like the deer fern, but more open at the base. Mix with low groundcovers for best effect. |
